Estelle Gauthier was born 8 April 1851 in Avoyelles Parish, the daughter of Leon Gauthier II and Clarisse Gremillion. On 21 Jan 1869, she and Pierre F. Goudeau were married at St. Hyacinthe Catholic Church, Moreauville, Avoyelles Parish. After their marriage, they lived at the Cedar Grove Plantation home of Estelle's father, Leon Gauthier, Tax Assessor/Collector, Justice of the Peace, Sheriff and State Representative.

Estelle was the mother of one son and ten daughters. About 1894, she and her husband moved their family to Lake Charles, where they remained the rest of their lives. At the time of her death, she and her husband were living at 1737 Elm Street in Lake Charles. She was buried in Orange Grove Cemetery, Lake Charles.
