Glennie Carolyn Bryan Barber, 79, of El Dorado, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born December 7, 1941 to the union of John Rufus Thurlkill and Sarah Eugenia Moore Thurlkill. Because she was born at midnight, Carolyn chose to celebrate her birthday on December 7th and 8th. Carolyn was a homemaker and loved camping, fishing, and ballroom dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Bobby E. Bryan and Don Barber; daughter Cynthia Kay Bryan; brother Virgil Thurlkill; and sisters Etta Hux and Ernestine Bates.
Those left to cherish her memory are sisters, Joyce Ham, Willie Jean Lockey, and Florence Williamson; daughters Renee Crawford (Donnie) and Pam Wilson (Norman M. "Bubba"); son Bobby Eddie Bryan, Jr. (Sandra); eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren and one due on September 9th.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Mt. Union Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 5, also at Mt. Union Missionary Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. John Ayres.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Union Missionary Baptist Church at 653 Mt. Union Road, El Dorado, AR, or to Smyrna Cemetery at 842 Iron Mountain Road, El Dorado, AR 71730.
