Thurman S. Brown, 89, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Claude Cemetery with Amy Gonzales officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.

Thurman was born on March 5, 1932 in rural Armstrong County, TX to James Franklin and Dora (Bruce) Brown. He graduated from Claude High School in 1948 and attended the Carpentry and Machinist programs at Frank Phillips College. Thurman was a truck driver for many years. He dearly loved his family, thoroughly enjoyed reading, music, and watching TV, and he was lovingly known for his smile.

Thurman was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, Junior Brown, Bruce Brown, Iris B Lowe, Meredith H. Brown, and Byron Brown, and one niece, Jan Elizabeth Kaler. Survivors include 18 nieces and nephews, Howard Bruce Brown, Iris Sue Brown, June Cluck, Stanley Lowe, Mark Lowe, Lyndal Lowe, Leslie Lowe, Loris Lowe, Timothy Lowe, James H. Brown, David A. Brown, D'Lynn Reed, Cherie Williams, Jim Bob Brown, Kay Lynn Elliott, Luann Everitt, Paul Brown, and Bill Brown; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and great, great-nieces and great, great-nephews.
