Dora Bruce Brown. He was retired as a fireman dispatcher from Central Fire
Department after 36 years. He was also involved with the RAs, a Cub Scout
leader and drove a church bus when his sons were young. He was a faithful
supporter of The Neighborhood Sunday School, an outreach program of Second
Baptist Church. He married Betty Ruth Harris on Feb. 15, 1951, in Clovis, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Brown, on Jan. 1, 2006; and a daughter, Jan Elizabeth Kaler on March 31, 1994.
Survivors include three sons, Jim Bob Brown of Amarillo, Paul Brown of Henderson, Nev., and Bill Brown of Greenville, S.C.; two daughters, Kay Elliott and Luann Everitt, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Meredith Brown of Stratford and Thurman Brown of Amarillo; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
