Mrs. Schrilla was born and raised in Melrose Park. She graduated from St. Paul Lutheran Grade Schook and Proviso East High School (1943). After raising her nine children, she worked for her husband at Publix Office Supply, Chicago, and retired in 2002. She was a former active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Melrose Park, where her children attended school. She had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Roselle. Mrs. Schrilla's remarkable strength, faith and abundant heart have proven to all who knew her that one person can make a difference.
Mrs. Schrilla is survived by her husband of 63 years, Paul Schrilla Sr.; her children, Robert (Wanda), Joneen (Thomas) Kwasniewski, Paul (Jean), Dawn (Robert) Jackson, Tom (Debra) of Geneva, Glorianne, Mary (Robert) Prainito of Geneva and Eva; son-in-law, Ron Albertson; 23 grandchildren, Gloria, Lisa, Paul, Robert, Lars, Kimberly, Melanie, Kristin, Heidi, Amy, Nicholas, Nikki, Nina, Karen, Ron, Tom, Jack, Mia, Jessica, Robert, Chuck, Denise and Patricia; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers, Elmer F. (Marion) Pflug Jr. and William K. (Margaret) Pflug; sisters-in-law, Betty (Richard) Decker, Dorothy (Fred) Lofgren and Ruth Brandt; cousins, Gene (Joyce) Prell and Jack Brust; many godchildren; and many nieces and nephews of the Pflug, Brust, Prell, Lofgren, Decker, and Schrilla families.
