Paul Schrilla Sr., 85, of Bloomgdale and formerly of Maywood. died Sunday, Apr. 29, 2012, at his home. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 3, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. A funeral service will be Friday, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst, Ill.
Mr. Schrilla is survived by eight children, Robert (Wanda), Joneen (Thomas) Kwasniewski, his namesake Paul, Jr. (Jean), Dawn (Robert) Jackson, Tom (Debra), Glorianne Ruth, his constant companion during years of care, Mary (Robert) Prainito and Eva, who, with Robert Prainito, support Tom Schrilla to excel in continuing service to their clients of Paul Sr.'s remarkable 50+ year career; his son-in-law, Ron Albertson; 23 grandchildren, Gloria, Lisa, Paul, Robert, Lars, Kimberly, Melanie, Kristen, Heidi, Amy, Nicholas, Nikki, Nina, Karen, Ron, Tom, Jack, Mia, Jessica, Robert, Chuck, Denise and Patricia; 28 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" (Richard) Decker and Dorothy (Fred) Lofgren; his sister-in-law, Ruth and close confidant and cousin, Gene Prell; his brothers-in-law, Wilbur K. (Margaret) Pflug and Elmer F. 'Bud' Pflug Jr.; his cousin, Jack Brust; numerous godchildren; and many more cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews of the Lofgren, Brandt, Decker, Rankin, Pflug, Brust, Prell and Schrilla families.
Mr. Schrilla was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Ruth (nee Pflug); his daughter, Linda Albertson; his parents, Angelo and Helen; his brother, Robert "Sonny" and his sister, Theresa "Dolly" Rankin; and his sister-in-law, Marion Pflug.
Mr. Schrilla was a veteran having served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific. Mr. Schrilla was in the office supply business for over 50 years, retiring in 2006. Mr. Schrilla was a lifelong member of the American Legion and gave many years of service to the Kiwanis and the V.F.W.
