Esther Darnell, former restaurant cook

NORWALK - Esther L. Darnell, 83, of Norwalk, died Friday, March 22, 1996, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, following a brief illness.

She was born in Lorain, where she lived for 20 years before moving to Monroeville. Mrs. Darnell had lived in Norwalk since 1986.

She was employed as a cook for a number of years by the former Monroeville Oil Co. restaurant. Mrs. Darnell enjoyed playing bingo.

Survivors include her daughters Karen Skinn of Willard and Grace Swanson of Monroeville; sons George Knight and John F. Darnell, both of Sandusky; and brother, Raymond of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Knight; second husband, John Darnell, in 1983; sister Althea, in 1955; and brother, Clarence, in 1978.

Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Jump Funeral Home, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville. Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home, the Rev. Lawrence Scharf officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Cemetery, Huron.
