Charlie Franklin Pruitt, 84, of Marietta, Georgia, died December 2, 1961 at home. Burial was in Toonigh Cemetery (Lebanon Methodist Church Cemetery). Mayes Ward Funeral Home in charge.
Pruitt was a farmer until his retirement in 1945. He was a member of Noonday Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Susie Croft Pruitt; daughters Emma Benson of Kennesaw, Nellie (Paul) Howard, Vera Mae (Jim) Trout, Lucile (Cas) Chambers, Hazel (Thomas) McLeod, all of Marietta; step-daughter Fannie Lee (Clarence) Pruett, of Atlanta; son Wade Pruitt, of Marietta; sister Ida Langley, of Holly Springs; brother John Pruitt of Lebanon; grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife Emmie Elder Pruitt, sons Hubert C. Pruitt and Early Frank Pruitt, brothers William H Pruitt, Albert Homer Pruitt, Jesse Edward Pruitt and Early Reese Pruitt, as well as his parents John S and Elizabeth Duncan Pruitt.
