Mishawaka - Janet L. Eckert, 90, of Mishawaka, IN passed away at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021, in her residence.
Janet was born on May 9, 1931, in Marion, IN to Paul Revere and Edna Ester (Ault) Soultz.
On October 4, 1952, Janet married Robert L. Eckert. Robert preceded her in death on July 14, 2009.
Janet was also preceded in death by three brothers, Phillip Soultz, Charles Soultz, and Ray Soultz, and three sisters, Francis Maynard, Lois Bogear, and Marilyn Miller.
Janet is survived by her children, Renae (Albert) Freeman, Kevin (Alice) Eckert and Tim (May) Eckert, her grandchildren, Angela, Ashley, Christopher, Megan, Gene, and Claere, her great grandchildren, Bryce, Ava, Rylee, Gene, Micky, Violet, and Mia. her sisters, Marjorie Randolph, Beverly Bittle, and Phyllis Hosier, and her brothers, Dale Soultz and Ronald Soultz.
Janet worked for Indiana Bell Telephone as a service assistant, and she was a member of the South Bend First Church of the Nazarene.
Janet had a love of life, enjoyed doing for others, and enjoyed spending time with family. She will dearly be missed.
Private family services have taken place.
