Charles A. "Chuck" Soultz, 84 of Jonesboro, IN died Monday, April 3, 2017 at Marion General Hospital.

Chuck was born in Marion, IN on November 2, 1932, son of the late Paul R. Soultz and the late Edna E. (Ault) Soultz. Chuck was a retired millwright with Local 1029 in Warsaw, IN and was also the former owner of the Twin City Foundry. He served 52 years on the Jonesboro Fire Department and 16 years on the Jonesboro Town Board where he had served as President. He enjoyed collecting many things but, especially Model A's and Model T's, that he enjoyed driving in parades.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Ellen (Monts) Soultz, three sons: Darrell "Butch" (Arlene) Soultz, Swayzee IN, Lee (Rhonda) Soultz, Upland, IN, and Alexander P. “Al” (Ginny) Soultz, Jonesboro, IN; three daughters; Mary (Donald) Gilbert, Jonesboro, IN, Pamala (Dwight "Ike") Jones, Pendleton, IN and Terry Jones, Jonesboro, IN; Son-in-law, Kenneth Shaffer, Atlanta, IN; Siblings: Janet Eckert, South Bend, IN, Beverly (Loy) Bittle, Heber Springs, AR, Marilyn Miller, Windfall, IN, Marjorie Randolph, Phyllis Hosier, Dale R. (Lesta) Soultz, Ray D. (Becky) Soultz, and Ronald L. (Cathy) Soultz, all of Jonesboro, IN and sister-in-law Martha Schwark, Marion, IN. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren plus one on the way, 3 honorary great grandchildren, and many close friends.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his in-laws Alex and Mary Monts. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Nanette Shaffer, grandson, J.D. Gilbert, sisters, Frances Maynard and Lois Bogear, brother, J Soultz, and brothers-in-law: David Hosier, Robert Randolph, Robert Eckert and Edward Miller. He was also preceded in death by his brothers- and sisters-in-law: Roy (Gert) Monts, John (Maxine) Monts, Walt (Phyllis) Monts, Rex Monts, and Pat Monts.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, IN where the family will receive friends on Thursday, April 6 from 2-8 PM and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday.

Funeral service for Chuck will be on Friday, April 7 at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Kenneth Dykhoff officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, IN.
