James Cleveland Staggs, 83, of Wellford, SC passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021.
Born in Wellford, son of the late Hollis Franklin Staggs and Cora Green Staggs; husband of Shirley Owens Staggs.
Owner and operator of Staggs Plumbing for over 54 years, was formerly employed with J.P. Stevens, was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and attended Jackson Baptist Church.
Survivors also include his son, James Edward Staggs (Pam); brother, Ronnie Staggs; grandchildren, Adriene Jones, Ryan Staggs, and Bryce Staggs; and nine great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by sisters, Dorothy Louise "Dot" Staggs Russell (1931–2006), Frances Staggs Oakley (1935–1990), and Dovie Mae Staggs Ward (1939–2004); and half-brothers, James Alvin "Jimmy" Staggs (1941–2007), Larry Dean Staggs (1946–2014), Steve Michael Staggs (1952–2015), and Melvin Staggs.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Jackson Baptist Church with Rev. Jim McMakin and Rev. Bryce Staggs officiating.
The family received friends from 1:30 - 3:00 pm prior to the service; interment at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
