Francis Nelson, of Mont Air, Hanover County, Virginia, 4th son and child of Gov. Thomas Nelson, Jr., of Yorktown, Va., and Lucy Grymes, his wife, was born at the last-name place, 25th June, 1767, and married, about 1792, Lucy, youngest surviving and 15th child of Hon. John Page, of North End, Gloucester (Matthews) Co., Va., and Jane Byrd, his wife. There children were:
1. Thomas Nelson, eldest, born about 1793; died single.
2. Mann Nelson, born ab out 1795; married, first, about 1820, Amelia Washington, and second, Lydia Kounstar.
3. Susan Nelson, born about 1796; died single
4. Jan Nelson, born about 1798; married, in 1819, John Page, of North End, Clarke Co., and was his first wife.
5. Lucy Nelson, born about 1799; died single.
6. Judith Nelson, born about 1801; married, 1819, Mann Page, of Greenland, Gloucester Co., Va., and was his first wife.
7. Sally Page Nelson, born Dec 10, 1801; married, Jan 21, 1841, Dr. Samuel Scolley (Scollay), of Smithfield, Jefferson Co., Va., and was his 2nd wife. (FAG 33476725)
8. Maria Nelson, born about 1803; married, about 1823, John Redman, of Jefferson Co., Va.

11. Philip Nelson, born at Mont Air, Hanover Co., Va., about 1811; resided there. He married in 1845, Jane Crease, widow of Rev. George Washington Nelson, of the Episcopal church, and was her second husband.
12. Hugh Nelson, born at Mont Air, Hanover Co., Va., about 1813; removed to Clarke County, Va. He married, 1836, Adelaide Holker, of Boston, Mass. He died at the former residence of K. S. Nelson, Albemarle Co., Va., about 1863, and was buried at Belvoir, same county. they had 2 children: Hugh Nelson and Fannie Nelson (died single).
13. Fannie Nelson, born about 1815; single.
14. Elizabeth (called Betsy) Nelson, born about 1817; married, 1835, Dr. James McCoughtry, and had issue.
