Mrs. Sophie Klomp, 73, died of diabetes Sunday at 2 p.m. at her home, 1314 Scott Avenue, after several years' illness. She was critically ill four months. Mrs. Klomp was born in Philadelphia but spent several years in Germany before coming here. Her husband, William Klomp, died three years ago. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Mission Society and the Indiana Blind Association. Surviving are two sons, Edward and Clarence, both of this city; two daughters, Mrs. F. E. Griffiths and Miss Clara Klomp, also of this city; three sisters, Mrs. William Schramm, of Kenosha, Wis., and Mrs. Helene Carver and Miss Anna Schmidt, both of this city, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Scheumann Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest J. Boerger officiating. Burial in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may view the body at the funeral home.

She was the daughter of Fredrick J. and Katherine (Wurms) Schmidt.

Sophia, married, William Klomp, on January 24, 1889, he was a widower with two children, William II and Mary "May" Klomp. Two daughters, Clara and Esther, two Sons, Edward and Clarence (Bud) Klomp.

Sophia and William had two children, Edward and Clara, one of these babies (I think it was Edward) lived 1 day; born Nov. 19, 1889 and the funeral was November 21, 1889. The other baby (Clara), died too. Haven't been able to find any info on this baby. They are buried on the Schmidt/Klomp Plot #24.
