Obituary, Fort Wayne News & Sentinel, Jan. 2, 1918, P14.

The obit, gives his death year as 1918 and the tombstone marker and the cemetery records give the date of, 1919. Also in the orginal obit several of the sisters, last names have the wrong spelling, I have corrected these. So there is a little difference from the original obit.

Charley was the son of Fredrick J. and Katherine (Wurms) Schmidt. The brother that is mentioned in the obit as living in Hagerstown, Ind., is William J. Schmidt.

Charley, married, Martha A. Burnie 1869 - ????, this was her second marriage, she had a daughter Alice Burnie 1891 -
????. Charley and Martha didn't have children.

Saint John's Lutheran Cemetery, 2nd drive to the right.
