Evelyn Carlson passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, in Mesa, Arizona.

Evelyn was born May 17, 1932, in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Fred and Ada Windom. She graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1950. She was active in FHA, the drama club and GAA. She married Robert Dean Carlson, the love of her life for 68 years, on Sept. 5, 1952.

They lived in the Oneida and Galesburg areas of Illinois until May 1993 and then moved to Mesa, Arizona, where their children lived. After moving here, Evelyn became a major sports fan. She loved the Phoenix Suns and could name every player along with the score of the games. She also became a huge fan of the Arizona Cardinals, and when Arizona got their MLB team, the D-backs, she thought that was the greatest thing since sliced bread. She had all kinds of bobble heads and, depending on the season, she would have her sports signs in the window. Besides sports, she loved to bake and decorate birthday cakes for her family.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Dean; two daughters, a son and their spouses, Sandy and Mike Reitmeyer, Scottsdale, Arizona, Larry and Rene Carlson, Chandler, Arizona, and Debi and Doug LaLonde, Gilbert, Arizona.

The Register-Mail - Dec. 2, 2020.
