Helen A. (Amspacher) Lytle passed away at her home in Stewartstown, PA on Friday, June 25, 2021. She was the wife of the late Harry R. Lytle.
Born on October 3, 1929, Helen was a daughter of the late David Amspacher and Anna Amspacher.
She worked in the clerical department for Yorktowne Kitchens for many years and eventually retired from there. After retirement, she partnered with her husband on the administrative work at their family owned gas station.
She was an active member of several organizations, including the Order of the Eastern Star, the Order of the Amaranth, and the Stewartstown United Methodist Church. Helen was also very involved in the Dorcas Quilting Ministries at her church.
In her free time, she enjoyed spending time at the beach and attending seasonal craft fairs in Ocean City, Maryland.
Helen is survived by her only child, Susan L. Manns; her beloved cat George; her two granddaughters, Katie Blietz and Elizabeth Smith (Matthew); her great-grandson, Ethan Smith; her siblings, Betty Orwig, William Amspacher (Charlotte) and Linda Wierman (Charles). She was also preceded in death by two siblings, Dolores Eaton and Robert Amspacher.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 3 with a Memorial Service beginning at 11 a.m. An Order of the Eastern Star Service and Order of the Amaranth Service will precede the funeral service at 10:45 a.m. Interment will be held at the Stewartstown Cemetery immediately following the ceremony, but is closed to the public, family only. A gathering with light refreshments will be held at the Stewartstown Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the York County SPCA, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
