STEWARTSTOWN Robert E. ''Bob'' Amspacher, 76, died Thursday, August 9, 2007, at his residence. He was the husband of Doris (Williamson) Amspacher, to whom he was married 57 years. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2007, at the J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, with the Rev. Michael G. Trimmer officiating. Viewing will be held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment will be in Stewartstown Cemetery. Born August 4, 1931, in Stewartstown, Bob was the son of the late David E. and Anna M. (Cochran) Amspacher. Bob worked as a security guard for Olin in Red Lion, retiring in 1994. He held many jobs over the years, and was known by his family as a "jack of all trades." He enjoyed repairing TVs and clocks, doing jigsaw puzzles, dealing at flea markets, and was the owner of the former Cross Roads Auction, where he enjoyed being an auctioneer. He liked to collect baseball cards and also collected Corvair cars. He loved to read, mostly westerns, liked to watch Gene Autry and John Wayne movies, and owned almost every John Wayne movie ever made. Bob was a devoted fan of his grandchildren, and enjoyed attending their baseball, softball, and football events. He was also the "supervisor" of many of his children's projects. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by two sons, David K. Amspacher and his wife, Judy of Dallastown, and Michael S. Amspacher of Stewartstown; two daughters, Vicki J. Schwertzler and her husband, Jim of Stewartstown, and Sherry L. Mitchell and her husband, Joel of New Freedom; six grandchildren, Joshua Amspacher, Chris Schwertzler, Jennifer Amspacher-Yusko, Rachel Flickinger, and Andrew and Sarah Fowler; three great-grandchildren; a brother, William Amspacher of Stewartstown; and three sisters, Helen Lytle and Linda Wierman, both of Stewartstown, and Betty Orwig of York. Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Eaton.
