Of Kouts Dies
George O. Lane, 80, prominent real estate agent in south Porter county, died Thursday evening at 10:45 o'clock at his home in Kouts. He had been in ill health for the last nine years.
Born at Milford, Ill., on Nov. 19, 1864, a son of John and Margaret Lane, Lane first came to Hebron, but moved to Kouts 45 years ago.
On January 15, 1903, he was married to Florence Belle Spencer, of Kouts. To this union were born two children, Omar, a son, who died in infancy, and a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Shanks, of Knox.
Surviving are the widow, the daughter, Mrs. Shanks; a grandson, Gerald Robert Shanks, of Knox, and one sister, Mrs. Al Borders of Logansport, Ind.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Kosanke Brothers' funeral home in Kouts, Rev. D. M. Iles, of LaCrosse Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery, west of Kouts.
Friends may call at the Kosanke funeral home this evening at 7 o'clock and up until time of services.
