Judith M. "Judy" Meeuwsen, 73, a longtime resident of the Hillsboro community, died Monday evening, June 21, 2021, at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 38975 N.W. Harrington Road in Roy, with Fr. Michael Vuky, celebrant. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will precede the Mass at 10:30 A.M. Rite of Christian Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, 39370 N.W. Mountaindale Road in Roy.

Family and friends are invited to attend a reception immediately following the burial rites, to be held in the basement of St. Francis School.

JUDITH MARY MEEUWSEN was born March 22, 1948 in Forest Grove, Oregon, the daughter of the late Maurice Joseph Jansen and Marcella Angeline (Vandervelden) Jansen. She was raised and received her education in the Banks community, having been a graduate of Banks High School Class of 1966.

She was united in marriage to Carrell Anthony Meeuwsen on September 11, 1971 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Roy. Following their marriage, they made their home in the Hillsboro community, where she had resided since.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Carrell, on April 20, 2019 in Hillsboro, Oregon, after celebrating forty-seven years of marriage together.

She had worked for Textronix, Inc. in Beaverton for several years. Judy later worked for Liepelt & Son Printing Company in Beaverton, for seventeen years, until she retired at the age of sixty-two years old.

Judy was a lifelong member of the Catholic church, having been members of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Roy and St. Mathew Parish in Hillsboro.

Among her special interests, she enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and board games, visiting the Oregon Coast and caring for her dog, Morty. She loved listening to music including Queen and Roy Orbison, and she was an avid reader.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Marcella Jansen and by her sister, Dora Jansen.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Ashley Conklin, of Eugene, Oregon; her son, Joe Meeuwsen, of Hillsboro, Oregon; her four sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Bill Haney, of McMinnville, Oregon; Nancy and Dick Vandehey, of North Plains, Oregon; Mary and Ken Gates, of Forest Grove, Oregon and Liz Jansen, of Banks, Oregon and her three brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert and Sue Jansen, of Banks, Oregon; Arnie Jansen, of Banks, Oregon and Jim and Dianne Jansen, of Cove Orchard, Oregon.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the Community Senior Center of Hillsboro in her memory.
