DORA MARIE JANSEN was born April 10, 1956 in Hillsboro, Oregon, the daughter of the late Maurice Joseph Jansen and Marcella Angeline (Vandervelden) Jansen. She was raised and received her education in the Banks community, having been a graduate of the Banks High School Class of 1974. Upon her high school graduation, Dora attended the Northwest College of Beauty in Beaverton, having graduated with her certification as a stylist.

She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in North Plains, Oregon.

Dora had worked for Mildred Scott in Forest Grove for several years. She later owned and operated Cuttin Cousins Salon at the Forest Grove Shopping Center and then worked at Carol and Nellie’s Salon in Forest Grove. Dora also worked for several decades, on a part-time basis, at Fuiten, Rose & Hoyt Funeral Home and was a valued member of our team before she retired.

Among her special interests, Dora enjoyed crocheting, including afghans, toys and fine needlework. She had a special love for her family life, especially spending time with her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Marcella Jansen, and also a brother-in-law, Carrell Meeuwsen.

Survivors include her eight siblings and their spouses, Barbara and Bill Haney, of McMinnville, Oregon; Judy Meeuwsen, of Hillsboro, Oregon; Nancy and Dick Vandehey, of North Plains, Oregon; Albert and Sue Jansen, of Banks, Oregon; Arnie Jansen, of Banks, Oregon; Mary and Ken Gates, of Forest Grove, Oregon; Elizabeth Jansen, of Banks, Oregon and James and Dianne Jansen, of Yamhill, Oregon.

Also surviving are her aunts, Dorothy Jansen, of Forest Grove, Oregon and Coralee Spiering, of McMinnville, Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the St. Francis School Endowment Fund, Banks, Oregon, in her memory.
