Mr. Hughes died Wednesday October 28, 1987, at his residence after a sudden illness. He was a former resident of Shreveport, where he was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. He was former employee of Pennzoil. Mr. Hughes was a member of the Lions Club and the First Baptist Church of Logansport.
He is survived by a son, Clyde R. Hughes of Baytown, Texas; two sisters, Hazel Bryant of Logansport and Margaret Jarvis of Shreveport; two brothers, Rev. Loyd Hughes of Haughton, La. and Arthur Harold Hughes of Channelview, Texas; and a granddaughter, Heather Hughes.
Family suggests that memorials be made to the Baptist Children's Home in Monroe or the Shriner's Hospital in Shreveport.
