BARBARA TITTENSOR
FUNERAL
December 7, 1985
1900 Barbara Tittensor was born at Clinton, Utah. Now a part of Roy, Utah, and was the first born of a family of seven, four girls Barbara, Delores, Wanda and Elaine and three boys, Don, Denton and Roy. Her parents were Dan and Pearl Parker. (Pearl Marie Taylor Parker)

1906 Moved to Ogden where Dan Parker operated a feed store where he took care of horses for travelers and local people. This is where Barbara started school.

1910 The family moved to Idaho Falls,(formerly Eagle Rock) Idaho where Dan Parker drove horses for the fire wagon. Barbara continued grade school and started high school. Working during the Summer in the seed factory.

1915 They moved back to Roy, Utah. Barbara worked in the canning factory, canning tomatoes and fruits.

1917 Moved to Ogden, Utah. This was the year of the great influenza epidemic. The Parker family all caught the flue except Brother Don. He would run errands and do what was needed.

1919 Moved to Clearfield, Utah. This is where the family lived when Barbara met Eugene Sidwell.

1920 March 1, 1920 Barbara married Eugene Sidwell and they moved to Ogden, Utah. Eugene was working for the Union Pacific Rail Road, and was transferred to Rawlins, Wyoming where they lived for several months but moved back to Ogden before the year was over.

1921 March 23, 1921 a child was born, a boy, and they named him Clair Eugene Sidwell, known to his associates as Buss.

1923 Aug. 20, 1923 another child was born, a girl, and they named her Betty Barbara Sidwell. Known to her friends as Betty.

After this the family was busy making a home for their family of two small children.

1927 March 2, 1927 Barabara's husband Eugene, passed away. This left Barbara with two small children to take care of and no money to do it with.
Barbara took a job at Schocroft Clothing Factory, living in an apartment and caring for her children. It was hard and truing times for Barbara for the next few years, but she managed. The depression came along which made things worse.
1941 Barbara got a job at Hill Air Force Base where she worked for some time.

It was about this time that Buss joined the armed services. While he was in the armed service he married Cleo Stone.
Betty joined the Waves, a department of the armed service and on December 12, 1946 she married Charles Richard Ganoe.

1945 Barbara married Gene Tittensor. Together they purchased a large home on 22nd Street in Ogden, Utah where she spent the next approx. 40 years. Gene was working for the Union Pacific Rail Road and was stationed in Ogden.
After this Barbara's greatest contributions in her live was the care she gave to Genes's Mother and Father, as both were ill in their older and declining years. She took constant care of them until their time was finished here upon this earth.

1959-60 Gene became ill with the dread decease, cancer. They tried everything for a cure but nothing seemed to help.

1961 Barbara was in San Francisco with Gene while he was in the hospital taking treatments. Barbara got word that her Mother had passed away in Salt Lake City and while Barbara was rushing to come to the funeral, she was hit by an automobile. The accident did not break any bones but it hurt her enough that she could not make the trip. She was constantly by Gene's side during his illness until he passed away on February 7, 1963.

After this Barbara lived alone in the home they had purchased, spending a good part of her time making ceramics. She became quite professional with her ceramics and won many prizes at different contests at fairs and public showings. She continually kept herself busy.

1979-80 The City of Ogden wanted her property as part of a shopping mall. Barbara did not want to give up her home, but after a period of time she finally gave in and sold to them. She purchased a home on Jackson Ave. where she lived for the rest of her life.

For the past several years my wife & I would come to Ogden and take Barbara out to dinner. This we did just last week along with Elaine, Barbara's other Sister. Barbara always enjoyed these visits and dinners and always had a good outlook on life and never complained.

Barbara has lived a full and very useful life, taking care of her family and helping family members in their illness. She has had a good, full and successful life.
I believe that this was given at her funeral by brother in law Rulon Hymas
