JOHN WILLIAM "JACK" ALLEN was the son of Thomas Day Allen and Mrs. Martha H. (Carruth) Allen.

He was the brother of Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth (Allen) Lea, of Marshall, Texas.

"John W. Allen Died Thursday Night ---
Mr. John W. Allen, late of Clovis, New Mexico, died last night at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Lea, six miles west of Marshall, Texas. Mr. Allen was a brother to Mrs. Lea. He was born 56 years ago in St. Helena Parish, Louisiana. He leaves three sons, one of them, T.J. Allen, of Beaumont, Texas, is en route here to attend the funeral which will be held on Saturday afternoon in Greenwood Cemetery."
