Maggie Mae Gandy went to be with her lord on May 25, 2021 at her daughter's home in Ore City, Texas, after fighting her battle with Parkinson's disease. She had lived there for the past year. She was 83 years of age upon her passing. She was born in Fouke, Arkansas on August 18, 1937 as one of 13 children, where she attended school until the 8th grade.

She was preceded in death by her parents Franklin and Mary Lou Bingle. She was also preceded in death by the "love" of her life, Claiborne Gandy JR, after having been married for 44 years. She was also preceded by her companion, Sam Gaskins.

Mrs. Gandy was a loving mother who cared for her family doing her best to ensure they were healthy and happy as they grew into fine adults. The family lived in California and Louisiana as the children were growing up, and she was always there for their support.

She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Thornhill and her husband Mark Edmonson of Shreveport and Kathy Kilgore and her partner Larry Reese of Ore City Texas. She is also survived by two sons, Gene Gandy and his partner Mary Denman of Benton, Louisiana and Dale Gandy of Shreveport Louisiana. She lovingly leaves behind 9 granddaughters, 3 great grandsons and 4 great granddaughters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other special friends from her days at Northwest Louisiana State School and from the time she operated The Bargain Shop, her "second hand store" in Haughton, Louisiana.

Visitation will be from 5 – 7 PM, Tuesday, June 1st at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Haughton Louisiana; where a funeral service will also be held in the chapel on, Wednesday, June 2nd at 1:30 PM, with graveside services to follow, Brother Ray Wilson presiding. Interment will be at Hillcrest cemetery in Haughton
