services for Mrs. C. L. Adair, 83, were at 2:00 P.M., Thursday afternoon, at the
First Christian Church, conducted by Rev. Cecil G. Swinehart. Mrs. Adair died
Tuesday morning, April 27, 1954, at the family home in Marceline, MO. Mary
Elizabeth Oldham, Daughter of M. G. and Mary A. Oldham, was born September 10,
1870, on a farm in Chariton County, 3 miles south of Marceline, MO. She and
Charles L. Adair were married February 1, 1894. To this union 7 Children were
born, a Son, Lawrence, dying in infancy. Mr. Adair preceded Mrs. Adair in
death, March 27, 1952. Also preceding her in death were 6 Brothers, and 2
Sisters. Surviving are her Children, Lewis Adair, Miss Lula Adair, Mrs. Lucy
Duckworth, and Mrs. Lola Medlin, all of Marceline, MO, Luther Adair, of Casper,
Wyo., and Miss Lota Adair, of Kansas City, MO; 5 Grandchildren, James E. Adair,
of Piggitt, Ark., Mrs. Mary Armstrong, Miss Peggy Adair, Mrs. Peggy Adamson and
Allen Medlin, all of Marceline, MO; 4 Great-Grandsons, Steven Adair, Gayle
Armstrong and Gregory and Randall Adamson.
