Pilot Tribune - Wednesday , March 9th, 1988 - Services for Mary Ruth Ahart, 93, Storm Lake, will be held 1:30 p.m. March 10 in the Presbyterian Church, Alta. Rev. Clarence Beard will officiate. Burial will be in Buena Vista Memorial Park, Storm Lake. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Thursday in Jones-Barker Funeral Home, Alta. Jones-Barker Funeral Home, Alta, is in charge of arrangements. She died March 6, 1988 at Buena Vista County Hospital, Storm Lake.
Ahart, the former Mary Ruth Kelly, was born July 23, 1894 in Tipton. She moved to White Lake,
S.D., with her family and later to Crofton, Neb. She married Joseph Ahart Dec. 19, 1912 in Sioux City. The couple made their home at Crofton before moving to Aurora, Colo. They later moved to Fort Morgan, Colo., and in 1930 moved to a farm at Early. In 1933 they moved to a farm west of Storm Lake and retired to town in 1948. He died April 20, 1972.
She moved into Methodist Manor, Storm Lake, in 1984. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Alta and United Presbyterian Women. She was a past member of the Progressive Study Club in Storm Lake.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one daughter, Doris Gustafson; three brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include two sons: Enos Ahart, Storm Lake, and Rev. Neal Ahart, Emery, S.D.; two
daughters: Mrs. Walter (LaVerne) Dierenfield, Storm Lake, and Mrs. Wesley (Kathryn) Wadsworth, Belmont, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
