Mrs. G. M. Bowen, 99, of Roxton, died in a local hospital Saturday, May 19, 1979. Funeral services were held Monday, May 21, at the First United Methodist Church of Roxton, conducted by the Rev. Rick Seals. Burial was in Restland Cemetery by Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home.

Hayden Landers Bowen was born July 18, 1879, in Bell County, a daughter of John F. and Mahala Nail Landers. She attended public schools in Arkansas, and married Mr. Bowen at Roxton in 1901. He died December 15, 1936. She lived in Roxton all her married life, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Roxton and of the Women's Bible Class there.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Chancelor of Dallas, Mrs. J. E. Batchelor of Haynesville, Louisiana, and Miss Alice Bowen of Roxton; two sons, Bob Bowen of Hemet, California, and Robert Shelton Bowen of San Ramon, California; one sister, Mrs. Geneva Walker of Amarillo; two brothers, Jack Landers of Amarillo and E. G. Landers of Roxton; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Gill Landers, Jr., J. T. Landers, Bill Bone, Sam Ausmus, Kenneth Hatanville, and Roy Landers.'
