THE PARIS NEWS, Friday, September 16, 1938, p. 10: “Tom R. Landers Dies Thursday. ROXTON, (Special). -- Funeral services for Thomas R. Landers, 51, who died at the Farm sanitorium in Oklahoma City Thursday night at 9:30 o’clock will be held at the home Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. J. F. Blackburn and the Rev. C. F. Coppins of Ben Franklin officiating. Interment will be under the direction of the Manton-Fry funeral home. Landers, who has been a merchant here for several years, was born in Melburn, Ark., and moved to Roxton as a child. He married Mis Joe Bailey, October 9, 1909. He was a stewart in the Methodist church, a Mason, Knight Templar and Shriner. Pallbearers are J. T. Holding, K. Hunter Bywaters, H. A. Burtner, Shelton McAmis, R. E. Mason and Dr. A. L. Jones. Members of the Roxton Masonic lodge will act as honorary pallbearers. Landers is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. J. H. Adams, Dallas; C. O. Landrs, Roxton; Mrs. Bertha Crafton, Amarillo; Mrs. George Bowen, Roxton; Mrs. R. A. Landers, Shreveport, La.; R. K. Landers, Roxton; J. F. Landers, Denison; Dr. J. B. Landers, Amarillo; Mrs. Will Wooldridge, Paris; Mrs. Will Stockton, San Antonio; Miss Neva Landers, Houston; Ray Landers, Houston.”
