Mr. Elijah Frank Luke, 70, entered into rest at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 1929, at a local infirmary after an illness of about three weeks. Funeral services will be conducted at Pierce's Chapel Thursday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Thomas Walker officiating. Interment will be in Pierce's Chapel cemetery. Pallbearers will be Will Murphy, J .C. Ford, J.M. Martin, Lee Maddox, W.H. Cliett, Will Mays. Mr. Luke is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Reid Luke; five sons, Charles F., Edward J., Thomas W., William D., and Marion Luke; two daughters, Mrs. Glenn Boswell and Mrs. A. Powell; a sister, Mrs. Dozier Powell; 23 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of Richmond county. Elliott Sons.
