Norbert W. Urban, 87, La Crosse, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La Crosse, Kansas.

Norbert was born July 2, 1933, in Loretto, Kansas, the son of Wendelin and Rosemary (Leiker) Urban. He was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas. He was a farmer and rancher.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and Knights of Columbus Council 2340, both of Liebenthal, Kansas. He was a former Rush County Commissioner. Norbert was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed bowling, visiting with family and friends, family trail rides, and was an avid Royals fan.

On May 24, 1955, he married Elsie A. Kuhn at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Liebenthal, Kansas.

Survivors include: his wife, Elsie Urban, La Crosse, Kansas; one daughter, Pamela Leiker (Richard), La Crosse, Kansas; two sons, Glen Urban (Pam), Lindsay, Oklahoma, and Brent Urban, Overland Park, Kansas; four grandchildren, Amber Irvin (Corey Seidl), Jason Leiker (Carly), Nathan Urban (Shannon), and Anisha Urban; eight great grandchildren, Audrey Irvin, Chet Irvin, Hadley Leiker, Lyndon Leiker, Killian Urban, Elsa Urban, Rosalyn Urban, and Kamdyn Urban; four sisters, Luceda Hager, Lyons, Kansas, Charlene Kreutzer, Stafford, Kansas, Edna Giebler, Hays, Kansas, and Doris Armstrong, Springfield, Missouri; one sister in law, Mary Urban; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Justin Urban; one infant brother, Gilbert Urban; one sister, Bernita Clair; and one step sister, Alice Towle.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 18, 2021, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse, Kansas. Because of the current challenges the world is facing at the present time, the funeral and interment will be private, immediate family only.

In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to St. Joseph's Steeple Fund, Liebenthal, Kansas, or Rush County Memorial Hospital Intermediate Swing Bed, La Crosse, Kansas. Arrangements were by Janousek Funeral Home, 719 Pine Street, P O Box 550, La Crosse, Kansas 67548, 785/222-2517
