Xenna Ruth (Capman) Johnson was born February 12, 1934 in Three Rivers, Michigan to Harold L. and Edith Capman. She quietly returned home to her family in heaven on March 23, 2021 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Xenna married Richard D. Johnson on March 25, 1950 at her parents' home in Marshall, Michigan. To this marriage four children were born, and all survive her: Nora (Clark) Volz of Schoolcraft, Michigan; Russell (Paula) Johnson of Hohenwald, Tennessee; Reinny (Julie) Johnson of Sherwood, Michigan and Robin (David) Leonard of Hastings, Michigan. Her beloved sister, Carol (James) Davis of Portage, Michigan, also survives her and stood by her side until her last breath.
Xenna was preceded in death by her husband and parents, as well as her brothers Billy, Sidney, Richard, Ted and Lloyd Capman and by her sister, Judy Capman Coy.
Hers was a life filled with love for her family. In addition to her children, 15 grandchildren and step-grandchildren and spouses, and 34 great-grandchildren, remain to mourn her loss and hold her memory close to their hearts.
Her love was also extended to her many nieces and nephews and their families, who will remember her laugh, her smile and the love she always had for them.
Her legacy will include her firm testimony of Jesus Christ as the Savior and Redeemer of the world. She was always ready to speak of Him, teach of Him, and invite all to come unto Him.
Friends and family are invited to meet with the family at Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services at 703 Capital Avenue, SW in Battle Creek, Michigan on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 5-7pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 11am at Sherwood Free Methodist Church, at 414 S. Main Street, Sherwood, Michigan. A graveside service will follow at Sherwood Cemetery.
