Elmer L. Barron, 95, of Lehigh Township, went to be with the Lord, while in the care of his family on Sunday, June 7, 2009. He was the husband of the late Florence V. (Ruch) Barron, who passed away in 2004. They shared 67 years of marriage. Born in Durham, Bucks County, he was the son of Issac and Amanda (Fluck) Barron.

Elmer was a member of St. Johns United Church of Christ, Farmersville, where he was a past president of the church Brotherhood, a former deacon and elder. He enjoyed playing on the dart-baseball team of the church in the Suburban League. Elmer was a former manager of Schantz Orchard, Palmer Township and later worked for Eastern Motor Freight Company until he retired. He was also a life member of the Petersville Rod & Gun Club.

Survivors: Son, Ronald E. Barron and his wife, Cheryl, of Walnutport; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, six stepgreat-grandchildren. Elmer was preceded in death by eight brothers, five sisters, and a stepgranddaughter.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Johns U.C.C., Farmersville, 8065 William Penn Highway, Easton. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6- 8 p.m. in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, and also Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until time of services in church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
