He was born November 25, 1932, in West Union, IL to Okla Lindley and Rachel Williamson Lindley. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. He was a member of the Sullivan American Legion Post #139 and attended the Hutsonville American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; Willis, Lloyd, and Duane Lindley; one sister, Eris Lindley.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Borders Lindley of Sullivan, IN; two sons, Frankie Lindley of Robinson, IL and Eric Lindley of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Lisa Marsh of Sullivan, IN; three brothers, Richard and Larry Lindley both of Marshall, IL and Jerry Lindley of Pikesville, KY; two sisters, Evelyn Wheeler of West York, IL and Carol Angel of Illinois; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, March 2007, at Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, IN with Rev. Dean Terrell officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery with military graveside services by Sullivan, Shelburn, Hymera, and Hutsonville Legion Posts and Sullivan County VFW Post.
