Jerry Don Bryant, 74, of Abilene, passed from this life on Monday, March 8, 2021 in Abilene.

Private family memorial services will be held in honor of Jerry’s life. Cremation arrangements under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Jerry was born on January 16, 1947 in Durant, Oklahoma to Ruth (Buckmaster) and Troy Bryant. He and Cheryl Ann Williams were married on August 7, 1989 in Durant, Oklahoma.

Jerry worked as an over road truck driver for approximately 40 years. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy who served as a Boilerman from 1965 to 1969. Jerry was an avid NASCAR fan and a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan. He and Cheryl moved to Abilene from Las Vegas, Nevada in October 2018.

Jerry was preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Bryant and one sister, Deborah Portman.

Jerry is survived by his wife Cheryl of Abilene; three sons, Sean Bryant and wife Brenda of Bridgeport, Texas, William Baxter and wife Stephanie of Brookings, South Dakota, and Michael Baxter and wife Joy of Hillsboro, Texas; four daughters, Lisa Orr of Azle, Texas, Kathryn Bryant of Paris, Texas, Rebecca Gibson and husband Shawn of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and Chelsea Black and husband Jason of Okinawa, Japan; two brothers, Roy Bryant of Durant and Tony Bryant of Denison, Texas; twenty-three grandchildren, Courtney, Kalee, Dylan, Mattison, Heather, Jaccob, Dylan, Kori, Maycee, Camdyn, Lexi, Geri, Janey, Grason, Triston, Hayden, Ivie, Ethan, Gideon, Angelica, Brooke, Jerimah, and Jeffery; and four great grandchildren, Benjamin, Bodhi, Thelonious, and Cristina.
