LeMars, Iowa - Special: Mrs. Herman Renken, 82, LeMars, died Sunday at a LeMars hospital after a month’s illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John American Lutheran Church here. The Rev. L. L. Belk will officiate. Burial will be in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Grant Township, rural LeMars, under the direction of Mauer Funeral. Mrs. Renken, the former Anna Brabander, was born Sept. 6, 1884, at Elkador, Iowa. She was married April 27, 1905, at LeMars. Mr. Renken died in 1960. Survivors include five sons, George of Ruthton, Minn., Lester of Columbus, Neb., Marvin of LeMars, and Raymond and Laurence, both of Struble, Iowa; three daughters, Mrs. Henry Beitelspacher and Mrs. Wesley Utech, both of LeMars, and Mrs. Edward Tammen of Del Rapids, S. D.; 33 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. William Ludwigs of LeMars; and a brother John of Pomona, Calif.
