The Mull home was attacked by Indians, who killed and scalped Mary's first husband, Abraham Mull, and their two children. Then set fire to the house. She escaped to her former brother-in-law, Henry Weidner and later went to South Carolina and stayed about a year.

Circa 1760, Mary Poffh Mull's first husband, Abraham Mull, and their two children were killed by Cherokee Indians. P.S. Conrad Mull was not her father and she was never married to a Poffh.
