The 1800 census revealed they were living in Lincoln County, North Carolina. Household members: Andw Hoyle (26-44), Katherine (26-44), Mary & Elizabeth (under 10) and one slave. Andrew's unmarried sister, Margaret lived five houses away.

The 1810 census revealed household members: And Hoyle (26-44), Katherine (26-44), one male (16-25), Eli & Absalom (under 10), Mary & Elizabeth (10-15), Saloma & Margaret(under 10) and seven slaves.

The 1820 census revealed there were eleven house members engaged in agriculture. They were living west of the South Fork of the Catawba River, Lincoln County, North Carolina. Household members: Andr Hayle (45 & up), Katherine (45 & up), one male (26-44), Absolam (16-25), Caleb & John (under 10), one female (16-25), one female (10-15), Catherine (under 10) and nineteen slaves. Andrew's brother, John and family lived five houses away. Andrew's unmarried sister, Margaret lived next door.

The 1830 census revealed household members: Andrew Hoyle Esquire (50-59), Katherine (50-59), Eli, Caleb & one male (20-29), one female (15-19), Catherine (10-14), one female (under 5) and thirty-seven slaves.

The 1840 census revealed there were eighteen house members engaged in agriculture. They were living in Lower Regiment, Lincoln County, North Carolina. Household members: Andrew Hoyl (50-59), Katherine (60-69), one male (30-39), Caleb (15-19), one male (10-14), one male (under 5), three females (5-9) and thirty-two slaves. Their son, Eli lived next door.

Records in Gaston County Library revealed Catherine and her husband were buried in the Hoyl Cemetery. It has been destroyed and her headstone no longer exists.
