Michael Alvin Collins, age 66, of Roscommon, MI, walked into the arms of Jesus on Friday, March 5, 2021.
Mike was born on November 10, 1954, in Pontiac, MI. He was the son of Alvin Collins and Ruth (Nielsen) Collins.
Mike was married to his best friend, Deborah (Schroeder), on April 26, 1975. They enjoyed 45 wonderful years of marriage together.
Mike also enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, hunting, four-wheeling, and drinking a beer on his porch in Florida or in his pole barn in Michigan. Mike retired from the Service Training Department of Chrysler Corporation in 2008 after 31 years of service. He was also an on-call firefighter with the Brighton Area Fire Department for over 24 years, retiring in 2011.
Mike will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Deb; his three daughters: Michelle (Austin) Harris, Melissa (Brandon) Krugh, and Lauren (Tim) Groenhof. He leaves behind the lights of his life…his grandchildren – Madison, Silas, Makenna, Cassidy, Preston, Archer, Lydia, and Gabriel. Mike is also survived by one brother, Robert (Sandra) Collins; and two sisters: Linda Collins and Cynthia Jameyfield; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Ruth Collins.
A celebration of life will be planned for this summer. The family prefers memorial contributions to be made in Mike's honor to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (firehero.org) or Feeding America (feedingamerica.org).
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
