Washington, Ga., Sept. 22-John Oliver Chennault, 57, wealthy Lincoln county planter, and one of the most prominent business men of this section of the state, died at his Lincoln county home early today. Mr. Chennault also owned a home in Augusta, where he and his family spent the winter.

J. O. Chennault Dies After Illness

Mr. Chennault and his Family for Several Years Resided in Augusta

Washington, Ga., Sept. 22-Following an illness of several weeks J. O. Chennault, large land owner and one ofthe best known and most prominent planters of LIncoln county, died this morning at 8 o'clock at his country home fifteen miles northeast of Washington. The funeral will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from his late home and interment will be in the family's private cemetery near Danburg.

Mr. Chennault was 58 years old and his death was caused by a carbuncle on his neck. Surviving him are his wife, who before her marriage in 1902 was Miss Alliene Norman, and two daughters, Misses Alliene and Leila Chennault.
