Death Yesterday of Miss Leila Channault (sic)
Miss Leila Chennault died here yesterday at a local infirmary after an illness of four months. The news of her death will come as a severe shock to her countless friends, for while she had been desperately ill, it was hoped to the very last that she would respond to treatment and revive.

Miss Chenault (sic) was only 23 years old and was a very beautiful and charming woman. Her winsome disposition and attractive personality won the affection and admiration of all who knew her. Ever since her early childhood she has been known and loved by a large circle of friends.

Although born in Lincoln county, Georgia, where she spent her early girlhood, for the past seven years she had made her home in Augusta, where she was one of the most popular among the younger set.

The passing of this lovely young woman on Christmas day was peculiarly sad and the sympathy of the entire community is extended to her loved ones in the hour of their great sorrow.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Aline Chennault; sister, Mrs. George P. Bates; aunt, Mrs. S. C. Ramsey; and cousins, C. R. Ramsey, Miss Elizabeth Ramsey, Mrs. H. G. Brim, Mrs. H. C. Story, of Danburg, Ga., and Mrs. S. Barino, of New York.

The funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the home of her sister, Mrs. George P. Bates, with whom she lived, 427 Broad street. Rev. Rembert G. Smith, D. D., officiating. Interment will follow in Westover cemetery.
