E.N. Baker died Friday, January 14, 1944, at 4:45 o'clock p.m. at Saturn with Rev. P.R. Burgin officiating.

E.N. Baker was born in Caldwell county. At the age of 17 his family moved to Gonzales county. He married Rebecca Ann McVea on Dec. 19, 1878. If Mr. Baker had lived another month, he would have been 85 years of age. Mr. Baker was exactly 30 years older than his son Curtis Baker.

Those surviving him are his children Z.M Baker of Galveston, Curtis Baker of Gonzales, Gladney Baker of Waelder, and Mrs. Artie Pearl Scoggins of Gonzales (his daughter Mrs. Emer A. Cobb died); his three brothers John W. Baker of Austin. J.B. Baker of Corpus Christi, and Jim Baker of San Antonio, and a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Baker of San Marcos; and 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
