Phyllis M. Dupler, 81, of 422 Baker St., died at 9:05 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 7, 2004) in the Heritage Green Health Care Center.
A lifelong area resident, she was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Jamestown, the daughter of Carl and Selma Nelson Hallquist.

She was employed at the Marvin Community House for many years, retiring in May. In earlier years, she was employed at the Colony Motel and Crawford Furniture Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Jamestown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, where she served on the deaconess board for many years.

She is survived by three sons: Phillip C. Dupler of Houston, James F. Dupler of Indianapolis and Rodney A. Dupler of West Ellicott; five grandchildren: Richard Dupler of California, Todd Dupler of Washington, D.C., and Allison, Andrew and Ashley Dupler, all of West Ellicott; two great-granddaughters; and four sisters: Sally Pacheco of Jamestown, Marilyn Hallquist of Lakewood, Mary Ann Cygan of Collins and Betty Palen of Gowanda.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde F. Dupler, who died Feb. 23, 1971; seven sisters: Donna Horan, Dorothy Swanson, Lois Horan, Norma Rivera, Isabel Blixt, Doris Carlson and Pauline Hitchcock; and four brothers: Merle, Allen, Roger and Robert Hallquist.
