Hans Peter Rasmussen, born February 16, 1890 in Oconto, Wisconsin. He worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Rail Road as the station master in Summit Lake. In the 1920's, he built a number of log cabins on Summit Lake, which he rented to vacationers. Pete collected local Indian artifacts, many of which he took in trade when dealing with the local Indians. He enjoyed oil painting, deer hunting, and ice fishing among other things. Pete died September 11, 1993 at the age of 103.
