Found in The Sedan Times Star on May 30, 1918, page 6, Column 4, Volume 46

Frances Wright was born in Overton County, Tennessee, March 1, 1834 died May 25, 1918 age 84 years, 2 months 24 days. The deceased was married to Joseph Wright January 12, 1858. To this union were born thirteen children:

1. Lewis Wright now living in Texas

2. Sarah M. Deen - deceased

3. Thomas B. Wright living in Arkansas

4. Mary Ann Bausman - deceased

5. Nancy J. Wright - died in infancy

6. Catherine A. Stone living in Texas

7. Abner F. Wright living in Oklahoma

8. Emma Josephine Anderson - deceased

9. Margaret Isabell McCurry living in Peru, Kansas

10. Iredale D. Wright living in Elk City, Kansas

11. William W. Wright - deceased

12. Martha S. Ferguson living in Sedan, Kansas

13. Benjamin F. Wright living in Elk City, Kansas

After their marriage they moved to Carroll County, Arkansas and later to Grayson County, Texas. From Texas they moved to Barry County, Missouri then from there to Chautauqua County, Kansas in 1883. Locating 1 1/2 miles south east of Hale on the home farm, where they continued to live until each were called to the heavenly home. Her husband Joseph Wright died in the year 1894.

Mother Wright was converted in early life and united with the Free Will Baptist Church afterwards she became a member of the Methodist Church. Sister Wright was a noble woman she filled up the full measure of her life, leaving a mothers influence as a sacred treasure to her children. She died in the christian faith and in great peace of mind.

Funeral Services were held in the family home, conducted by A.M. Ross Text used for the occasion " There remaineth, therefore, a rest to the people of God." A large concourse of neighbors and friends assembled to pay the last tribute of respect to one whom they had so long know and loved.
