Orleana was born about 1846, the daughter of Anna (Bunch) and Samuel Thompson Allred. After her father's death in 1857, she remained with her mother until her marriage to Solomon Harness Kirby on 16 Nov 1880 at the age of 34. They had the following children:

-Samuel Nelson Kirby - 1881 – 1957
-James Polk Kirby 1883 – 1974
-Lafayette Jesse Kirby -1886 – 1910
-Anna Jeanette Nettie (Kirby)(Johnston) Newton 1890 – 1954
-Thomas Kirby 1892 –
