Grace E. States, 79, Barnesboro, died Sunday, Jan., 3, 1999, at Altoona Hospital. Born Dec. 18, 1919, in Pine Township, she was the daughter of Norris and Elsie Bowers Trout.
Grace was the matriarch of five generations.
Surviving are these children, Shirley, widow of Vernon Boyer, Warren, Ohio; Audrey, married to Paul Kopylec, Cleveland, Ohio; Patricia, married to Ken Farrell, Spangler; Kenneth, married to Carol Ann Humbert, Medina, Ohio; Thomas "Tucker" States, married to Rose Stoltz, Brunswick, Ohio; Karen "Cookie" Morris; Linda, married to Joe Evanchick, and Bonnie, married to Paul Shultz, all of Barnesboro, RD 2, and a brother, Edward Trout, Euclid, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas, who died in 1960; one daughter, Sandra; one grandson, Thomas; one great, great granddaughter, Sara Beth Farrell; and four brothers, Ken, Alton, Raymond and Richard.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, the time of services, at Long-Contres Funeral Home in Barnesboro. The Revs. Frank Yarnal and Thomas Topar will officiate and interment will be in McDowell Cemetery.
