Camille Elizabeth Wimberly and James Monroe Griffin were married 24 Feb 1926 in Natchitoches, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. They were the parents of one son, Frederick Monroe Griffin.

Campti, Feb. 25 (Special), -- Miss Camille Wimberly of Campti and J. Monroe Griffin of Alexandria were married in Natchitoches Wednesday at 6 o'clock by Justice of the Peace O'Quinn.

HALL SUMMIT, LA -- Camille Griffin, born on April 8, 1907 in Hall Summit, LA., went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 6, 2000. Camy, as she was known to her family and friends, was a long time member of Highland Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA and was very active until she fell and it was no longer safe for her to live alone. Camy moved to Lake Pointe Care Center in Rockwall, TX so she could be near her grandsons.

Camy attended Northwestern University where she graduated in 1935 with a teachers degree and went to Norton's Business School.

Camy was the head bookkeeper at Morris-Dixon Drug Store in Shreveport, LA until she retired in her eighties. She was an excellent cook and some of her recipes were published in the Highland's Good Cooks' Book. Camy lived a long and fruitful life and was loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe; and son, Freddie Griffin, both of Shreveport, LA. Also preceding in death by sisters, Sally Wimberly, Ozell McKinnon, Edith Patient, Nina Ford; and brother, Van Tally.

She is survived by her four grandchildren, James Griffin and wife Linda of Rowlett, TX, Rebecca Etchison of Telluride, Colorado, Bill Griffin of Rockwall, TX, David Griffin and wife Ronda of Lewisville, TX; great grandchildren, Carrie Etchison, Jennifer Etchison and James Etchison, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, Janna Lee Griffin of Rockwall, TX, Zachary and Patrick Griffin of Lewisville, TX; surviving sisters, Jean Rutledge and husband Collie of Garland, TX, Ruth Willhoff and husband Bob of Ohio.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 1000 at Forest Park Cemetery, Shreveport, LA, with the Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating.
