Arque Neal Davis was born February 14, 1900, in Mexia, Texas, to Polly and William Davis. After some time he moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma where he attended Favor High. In 1925 he became a resident of Oklahoma City, where he resided until his passing, Monday, November 10, 1986.

Having accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior early in life, Arque became a long time active member of the Greater Shiloh Baptist Church. He served 50 years as a deacon, and over 20 years were given in the capacity of Church Treasure, being honored as Treasurer Emeritus, after resigning that office. He also held the office of President of the Choir and Trustee of the Board for many years. Mrs. Davis was a retiree from the L & S Bearing Company, after 37 years of service. He was faithful in his work and in his service in the church and will be missed by all who he loved and those who cam to know and love him.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie E. Davis, his second wife, Fanny A. Taylor-Davis, 2 sons, Arque Davis Jr., Dewey Davis, 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

Arque is loved and remembered by his daughters,Velva L. Davis of Pasadena, CA, Geraldine L. Anderson and Alva Thomas of Oklahoma City, Norva G. Fowler of Pasadena, CA, and Charlene L. O'Neal of Colorado Spring, Co; his sons, Wilferd E. Davis of Altadena, CA and Alfred W. Davis of Dallas, TX; 7 brothers, Henderson Davis, Mexia, TX, E. J. Davis, Streetman, TX, Zeltee Davis, Lemoore, CA, Fred Davis, Tulsa, OK, Morton and William Davis, Corsicana, TX and Jessie Lee Davis, Henley, TX; 2 sisters, Lela Davis Wadley Richland, TX and Thelma Davis, Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Melvin Davis and Reginald Thomas of Oklahoma City, John Thomas, Oakland, CA Bernard Davis, Altadena, CA; George Fowler Jr., Keith Davis, Traina Davis, and Kimberly Davis of Pasadena, CA Marie O'Neal, Colorado Springs, CO, Diane Davis and Afred Davis Jr. of Dallas, TX; 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, numerous relatives and friends.

Services under the direction fo Rolfe Funeral Home. Funeral service was held Saturday, November 15, 1986 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church, 1108 NE 50th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 7311. Pastor T. H. Hubbard, Officating. Interment at Trice Hill Cemetery.
