Henry Hawkins was born in Kentucky in 1820 and moved to Indiana while a boy of about twelve years, and died May 17, 1904, aged 83 years, 8 months and 6 days. He died at the home of his son, David Hawkins, of Clear Spring, where he had been making his home for about six years.
In 1851 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Reynolds, who preceded him to the grave. To this union was born one son, Samuel, who still survives.
In 1854 he was again married to Mary Ann Martin and to this union was born six children, namely, Thomas, Mary, David, Amanda, Addie and Wesley. Thomas, Mary and Wesley died while very young, which leaves three remaining.

According to Henry's death certificate he was the son of Thomas Hawkins "of Kentucky", mother "Unknown".
Samuel A Hawkins connected to this site, is the ONLY child of Henry's 1st marriage to Mary Reynolds.
