Ester Callahan is listed in her father, Jacob Urmy's 1831 will from Washington county, Indiana. And Evy Urma, who married Thomas Callahan Sr's brother Jesse, was probably her sister.
Esther (Urmy) Callahan's name? I have multiple deeds from Washington County, Indiana, for Thomas Callahan and her, and now a copy of her father's actual will. She always signed her mark, so probably couldn't read or write herself. Most spell her name as Esther; one as Hettie, and her headstone says Easter. The 1850 US Census does say Hester, but the enumerator did not necessarily even know them. Her father, Jacob Urmy's will clearly says Esther Callahan, and he signed it himself. He died 1831 in Jackson Township, Washington County, Indiana, where Thomas Callahan and Esther's brother Jacob Urmy Jr were both elected trustees of the Martinsburg Church of Christ in 1837, and bought and sold land together for that purpose.
Also, can you please link to her father's memorial? There's no actual headstone, but a memorial was created for the family cemetery where he was buried: Jacob Urmy, 76517676
